The Northseacoast
A magnificent sea wall protects the north part of Friesland. On one side a wild Wadden Sea with stretched salt marshes. On the other side a characteristic hillock scenery.

The dikes and hillocks in the landscape immediately attracts your attention. The dike of ‘Oudebildtdijk’ in the community of the Bildt, with typical dike-houses and monumental farm houses, is the longest street of The Netherlands. Drive along the sea wall and don’t be surprised when sheep cross over.

Dokkum, Franeker, Harlingen and Leeuwarden. Beautiful cities nearby the Northseacoast. Art, culture, shopping, wine and dine. A day to remember!
Fryslân has a countless number of little villages that are worth while visiting. You can enjoy a terrace, walk through the little alleys or find out more about the interesting Frisian culture and history.
Up to your knees in mud – and sometimes up to your neck in water. Wading through the mudflats of the Dutch Wadden isn’t for the faint of heart. But the rewards are great: the views, the silence and the nature are awesome.
The dike is a special piece of Dutch hydraulic engineering. It is internationally well-known and the subject of many beautiful memories.
